David Weston

David Scott Weston, 63, of Sealy, formally of El Campo, passed away on February 6, 2022. He was born in La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin, France on December 13, 1958 to the late Roy and Glendyl Bone Weston. David was a manual and CNC machinist for 45 years and was an absolute master of his trade. He earned a Certificate of Metal Trades in 1977 while attending El Campo High School and began his career with Mark’s Machine Company in El Campo, Texas. David was the epitome of a hard-working, loyal employee. He seldom called in sick and an accumulation of unused vacation time was common for him. He never dreamed of arriving late, clocking out early, or shirking his duties. He was glad to have a job that provided for his family and had an undying love for all things machinist. He attributed his strong work ethic to years of watching his own father, Roy, and then instilled those same values in his children. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent as much time outdoors as possible. He is survived by his daughter, Jillian Miller and husband Allan of Inez; son, Brad Weston and wife Resa of Magnolia; grandchildren, Melea Price, Lincoln Miller, Connor Weston, Olivia Weston, and Ainsley Weston; sister, Rhonda Martinka and husband Stephen of El Campo and close companion, Sharon Hubenak of Sealy. David was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna Schindler and husband Ralph; nephew, Trey Wilberg. Visitation begins 2 p.m. February 11 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Hillje with a Rosary recited at 2:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 3 p.m. with the Fr. Michael Rother officiating. Burial will follow at St. Andrew’s Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clifford Schindler, Mitchell Martinka, Dave Schod, Will Anderson, James Merta and Travis Saucedo. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of David to be made to St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Hillje.
